Universal Rules
No matter your style, these tips ensure your art elevates the space:
1. Size & Proportion: Artwork width should ideally span 2/3 to 3/4 of the furniture below it (sofa, bed). Too small looks timid; too large feels oppressive.
2. Hanging Height: The center of the artwork should align with eye level when standing—typically 145–155 cm from the floor. In dining areas or hallways, hang slightly lower for a more intimate feel.
3. The Color Echo Rule: Never view a painting in isolation. If it contains a certain color, find a呼应 object in the room (a cushion, vase, a patch of rug). This “echo color” instantly integrates the artwork into the space.
4. Light Protection: Avoid prolonged direct sunlight on valuable oils or prints to prevent fading. If the space is dim, a dedicated picture light or adjustable spotlight can instantly bring the art to life and make it a nighttime focal point.
